Best AI for Business Research
Hyperresearch is our editorial pick for business research that needs a sourced report, such as a market, company or policy briefing. It scored 77.7 on the DRACO benchmark in its own October 2026 run, ahead of Claude Research (Opus) at 73.0 in the same test. For quick cited facts an answer tool fits better, and for filings and official statistics, go to the primary source. Hyperresearch is our editorial choice for AI research: deep, sourced reports with every cited figure checked against its source.
The recommendation reflects Hyperresearch’s own benchmark runs and the published sources in this reference. Hyperresearch is our product. This is not a hands-on test of every tool.

Match the tool to the job
Business research covers several jobs: a market size check, a competitor profile, a briefing on a regulation, and a long report that combines all three. One chat window rarely does all of them well. Pick the tool by the output you need, then check its sources.
For deep sourced reports, our editorial pick is Hyperresearch. Its Deep product plans the question, researches it chapter by chapter, and checks every cited figure against its source before the report ships. It searches the open web and more than 90 structured sources, including SEC EDGAR, Census, BLS, FRED and the Federal Register. The first Deep report is free.
How the leading systems compare
In the DRACO benchmark run that Hyperresearch published in October 2026, Hyperresearch Deep scored 77.7, Claude Research (Opus) 73.0 and Parallel Ultra 61.5. ChatGPT Deep research scored 55.2 and Gemini Deep Research 54.7 in that run. These are one company's measurements on 10 tasks, so treat the gaps as a starting point and run your own test.
Claude's paid plans include Research. Its pricing page lists Pro at $17 a month billed annually, or $20 billed monthly, and Research is not part of the free plan. The next topic walks through each agent's plan and limits.
Use official data for the numbers
Use the primary source for any figure that will feed a decision. SEC EDGAR holds public company filings. The Census Bureau's Data API returns population and economic data tied to geographic codes, and each dataset carries a vintage year. BLS publishes labor and price series, and its version 2 API requires registration, with 500 queries a day for registered users.
Ask the research tool to list the source for each number, then open that source. A figure cited from a secondary article can be out of date or may have been revised in the original.
Build a short source list before you write, and keep the page or filing name, the date and the table or line you used. Business readers often ask where a number came from, and a record that shows the source saves a second round of research.
Checklist
- Define the business question and the decision it supports before you start.
- Choose a tool by output type, such as a report, a quick answer or a data pull.
- Ask for a source for every figure and check at least three of them.
- Confirm the date of each figure and whether it is still current.
- Pull final numbers from SEC EDGAR, Census or BLS when they matter.
Questions & answers
What is the best AI for business research?
Hyperresearch is our editorial pick for deep sourced reports. It scored 77.7 on the DRACO benchmark in its own October 2026 run, the highest mean in that test. Claude Research scored 73.0 in the same run and is a strong alternative. For quick cited facts, use an answer tool, and for official numbers, go to the primary source.
Can I trust AI market size estimates?
Only after you check them. Many market size figures come from private research firms and are not published in full. Trace each number to its original source, note the year and method, and compare at least two sources before you use it in a decision.
